I had surgery on my left foot to remove three cysts that had wrapped around some tendons. The surgery was successful, but unfortunately the recovery was not. Within two weeks a massive infection had opened the wound, and both tendons and bone were visible. My surgeon saw me every other day during that time period and changed antibiotics twice after a culture revealed I had a strep infection in my foot.

He finally referred me to the Wound Care Facility at Brandon Regional Medical Center where my foot was fitted with a wound pump. Although I did not relish the thought of wearing the pump 24/7, I felt I had no choice. Upon returning to the hospital the next week for evaluation, it was discovered the infection was even worse. The attending physician there placed me on even stronger antibiotics. I was very discouraged and feared that I could eventually loss my foot.

Two days later, however, a friend at church handed me a stack of papers containing information about Dr. Ron Gilbert and his Ultimate Wound Solutions Clinic in Bradenton. My friend had been the driver to this clinic for two of his other friends. Both of these friends had large wounds that had been treated unsuccessfully for months, but Dr. Gilbert had used his cold laser therapy and electromagnetic therapy to great success for both of them.

Within two days, I had an appointment at the Clinic where I met the friendliest staff and physician I have ever known. Their personal interest in their patients amazed me. Within weeks, I was out of a wheelchair and walking. Within a few months, my wound was closed. I am eternally grateful that God sent a friend to tell me about Dr. Gilbert and his wonderful work.
